How to compare tree removal quotes
The lowest number is only useful when each company is pricing the same job.
Normalize the scope
Give each company the same tree location, approximate height, access description and photos taken from a safe place. Ask for an on-site assessment when required. Specify whether you want the stump ground and all wood removed.
Record whether each total includes tax. If one quote excludes a report, permit, disposal charge or travel, obtain the actual additional price before comparing totals. Do not fill missing lines with a guessed market average.
Check who carries the risk
Ask for current evidence of liability insurance and applicable worker coverage. Confirm the business identity, who performs the work, whether subcontractors are involved and how damage claims are handled. A badge on a website is not a substitute for verifying the contractor.
Agree on access, protection of surfaces, start conditions and the handling of unforeseen work. Any additional charge should have a clear approval process rather than appearing after the job.
Put payment and completion in writing
Ask for the payment schedule, cancellation terms and the exact definition of completion. Clarify whether a deposit is required and what it covers. Keep the quote and any approved change orders.
The comparison tool performs arithmetic only. It does not rank contractors, verify insurance or determine whether a quote is fair for the site.
Compare the complete quoted cost
Enter written amounts in CAD. Use the same tax treatment for all three. Add only extras that are not already included. Nothing is sent to us.
