Verify claims independently
Ask for the full name and credential identifier of any claimed certified professional. Verify the credential with the issuing organization. Certification, insurance and business registration are different checks; none replaces a site assessment.
Ask who is doing the work
Find out who will supervise, what equipment is planned and whether a subcontractor is involved. Confirm current insurance and applicable worker coverage. Keep copies of the written quote, permissions and any changes.
Stay clear of hazardous work
